The Northern Lights Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is pleased to be hosting SWANA’s 5th Canadian Waste Symposium,
The
Summit for Sustainability, in Banff, Alberta April 18-21, 2010 at the Fairmont Banff Springs.

SWANA represents over 8000 waste and recycling industry professionals from across North America whose mission is advancing the practice of environmentally and economically sound management of municipal solid waste. Our Northern Lights Chapter includes over 250 members from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories.

The 5th Canadian Waste Symposium' is expected to attract close to 300 delegates from both public and private sectors. In addition to a dynamic trade show, interactive social program and facility tours, the Summit for Sustainability will offer educational sessions ranging from innovations in Recycling, Collection, Composting and Community Marketing to the latest research on issues such as equipment emissions standards, Construction and Demolition Waste and Landfill Gas.

This national event also features a distinctly international flavour as the SWANA International Board will be in attendance, including representatives from all 45 Chapters across Canada, the United States and, just recently, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. It’s a unique opportunity to connect personally with decision-makers from all levels of government – municipal, provincial, state and federal – all in a royal Rocky Mountain setting.
