Join Peter Duck, an award-winning interpreter of Human and Natural History and a member of our Symposium Coordination Committee, for an informative introduction to the landscape of Banff National Park as we head up the Bow Valley Parkway to Lake Louise for an afternoon of fun and fantastic mountain scenery.

Watch the awesome landscape pass by as you hear about the formation of these spectacular mountain ranges along with stories of the wolves and wildfires that combine with tales of human adventure to make the Canadian Rockies a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After one or two stops for pictures along the way, you can spend the afternoon in the Switzer-land of North America with the historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise as your luxurious base camp.

Pick your own activity at the Lake, from snowshoeing to snowman-building to a quiet stroll in the winter wonderland along the lakeshore… or simply chat with symposium colleagues over snacks in our Chateau hospitality room. Depending on how the season advances, the Chateau Lake Louise offers onsite equipment rentals for snowshoeing, skating and cross-country skiing, as well as the opportunity to book guided activities with certified interpretive experts.

BANFF 2010 Announcements:

SWANA NLC is pleased to announce that Rod Black, the Voice of TSN and CTV Sports, will be joining us at the Trade Show Mixer.

Courtesy of Call2Recycle, and fresh from his "Defining Moments" series at the Olympics, Rod will be taping a special interview show highlighting our own "Defining Moments for the Environment". It's a unique-to-SWANA opportunity to showcase our personal and professional stories in an industry that is always long on challenge, but definitely short on glamour and recognition!
