Fairmont Banff Springs
Fairmont Banff Springs

Banff National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the crown of the Canadian Rockies…and the Fairmont ‘Castle’ is its historic jewel.
Located just 90 minutes from Calgary, the Town of Banff defines sustainability. Banff’s four-km2 footprint preserves its picturesque alpine charm, with all the amenities mere minutes away from world-class scenery, skiing and wildlife.

See you there! - Banff 2010
See you there!

Don't miss your chance to come to the Castle...the weather should be warm-er, but the skiing still cool....and it's prime wildlife wake-up time, so cameras are a must.

Getting Around Banff

http://www.banff.ca/visiting-banff/maps-directions.htm

The townsite itself is an approx. 20-minute walk, downhill on regular sidewalks, from Fairmont Banff Springs. Those wishing to commune directly with nature while walking can instead choose the River Trail into town. Copies of a local natural history brochure illustrating the River Trail and others will be available in Symposium registration packages.

A New Experience in Public Transit

In 2008, Banff became the first municipality in Canada to introduce an all-hybrid electric transit fleet. Roam buses are friendly to the environment and are wrapped in authentic back-country views of grizzlies, elk, mountain goats and wolves.

The Roam bus stops just outside Fairmont Banff Springs and tokens at the discounted rate of $1.50 will be available for purchase at the Symposium Registration desk.

Spring skiing is a whole new season in Banff - warm and cool at the same time!

There are 3 ski areas nearby: Banff Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise Ski Resort. Each resort offers shuttle transportation and lift tickets. More information is available at: www.banffnorquay.com ; www.skibanff.com and www.skilouise.com. Multi-day ski packages are available at: www.skibig3.com.
